Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the milk, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk together over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and heated through, but not boiling.
While the cocoa heats, preheat your broiler to high.
Once the hot cocoa is ready, pour it into two heatproof mugs.
Top each mug with a generous layer of mini marshmallows.
Place the mugs under the broiler for about 1-2 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning!
Carefully remove the mugs from the oven (they will be hot!).
If desired, top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.
Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, toasted flavors.
