Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 large egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup beef broth

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Set aside.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. This step adds extra flavor but is optional if you prefer to cook directly in the slow cooker.

Place the browned meatballs (or raw, if opting for direct cooking) into the slow cooker.

In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, sliced mushrooms, soy sauce, and ketchup. Pour the mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

Once cooked, mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce. Allow to cook for an additional 30 minutes on high.

Serve the Salisbury steak meatballs over mashed potatoes or egg noodles, with the delicious gravy spooned on top.
