Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to create a marinade.
Add the trimmed asparagus to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the marinade.
Spread the asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crisp at the ends, tossing halfway through for even cooking.
Once roasted, remove from the oven and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, for an extra burst of flavor.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
