Ingredients
1
lb
chicken breast, thinly sliced
2
tablespoons
vegetable oil
4
cloves
garlic, minced
2-3
pieces
bird's eye chilies, finely chopped
1
piece
red bell pepper, sliced
1
cup
green beans, trimmed
2
cups
fresh Thai basil leaves
3
tablespoons
soy sauce
1
tablespoon
fish sauce
1
tablespoon
oyster sauce
1
teaspoon
sugar
1
serving
cooked jasmine rice, for serving
Instructions
In a bowl, combine the chicken slices with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Add the minced garlic and chopped bird's eye chilies to the hot oil, stir-frying for 30 seconds or until fragrant.
Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink.
Stir in the sliced red bell pepper and green beans, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.
Pour in the remaining soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Toss everything to coat well, allowing the flavors to meld for another minute.
Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until just wilted.
Serve the spicy Thai basil chicken hot over a bed of jasmine rice.
Notes
Garnish each plate with additional basil leaves and a slice of lime for a burst of freshness.
