Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon paprika

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (optional for thickening)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Season the Pork Chops: Begin by generously seasoning both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.

Sear the Pork Chops: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. Remove the chops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Sauté the Onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook them for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the dried thyme and paprika. Bring this mixture to a simmer.

Combine and Simmer: Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the liquid over them. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low, allowing the chops to simmer for about 15 minutes. This helps the chops become tender and soak up the flavors.

Add Cream: After 15 minutes, remove the lid and pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can add the cornstarch slurry at this point and stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Allow to cook for another 5 minutes.

Final Touches: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.

Serve: Plate each pork chop, generously smothering them with the creamy onion sauce.

                  - Presentation Tips: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for color and serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
