Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
While it preheats, drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
In a mixing bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt until evenly coated.
Once the air fryer is hot, transfer the seasoned chickpeas to the basket in a single layer for optimal crispiness.
Air fry the chickpeas for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
Once done, remove the chickpeas from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes; they will get even crispier as they cool.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, and serve as a snack or topping for salads and bowls.
