Ingredients
2
cups
pecan halves
0.5
cup
brown sugar
1
teaspoon
ground cinnamon
0.25
teaspoon
salt
0.25
cup
unsalted butter, melted
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
0.25
teaspoon
cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and vanilla extract.
Pour the butter mixture over the pecans, tossing to coat them evenly.
Add the sugar and spice mixture to the pecans and stir until all the nuts are well-coated.
Spread the coated pecans evenly on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are in a single layer.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
Remove the pecans from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet; they will harden as they cool.
Once cooled, break apart any clusters and store the pecans in an airtight container.
Notes
Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
